kate turns 2

It's been exactly a month since my last post. Whoa. I keep saying I'm going to blog and then just never do. Lack of time for sure.

This is just checking in to say that we are still alive and doing well! I have been feeling so grateful for some things the Lord has been doing here, and I am grateful for the people he has placed into my life especially. So the lack of blogging is all for good reasons. I hope to catch up soon.

But in the meantime, our precious baby girl turned 2 this week! Where did the time go?! Our sweet Kate Kate brings us so much joy and makes us laugh on a daily basis. She LOVES her baby dolls and showing everyone her pretty shoes at church. She also loves to be tickled and chase her big brother around the house with a sword. Ah, what a joy!

Here are some pictures from her birthday for the grandparents and aunts, uncles, and cousins to enjoy. :)

Kate loves pogácsa, so Kevin went out early and got some for her for breakfast from our favorite pékség on her special day. She was super happy!

First present to open from Seth, who was of course eager to "help" her unwrap. :)

She loves to chat on the phone. Here she is talking to cousin Daniel.

Just to prove that I'm actually there...since I'm the one who's usually taking the pictures! And Kate has LOVED that cupcake set from Aunt Stefanie and her family!

Kate wanted a chocolate cupcake with frosting and sprinkles. So we made one huge one instead of individual ones. She was thrilled with this and asked us to put more sprinkles on her cake after she ate them all (and translated from Hungarian, these sprinkles are called "sugar confetti," which I find quite accurate!).

Playing with the new stroller for "pink baby."

We had just a few friends over for dinner and cake and ice cream for her birthday and didn't get to finish opening presents, so we finished the next day, which she enjoyed. Of course it was first thing when she was still in her pajamas. :)

And thanks to a certain set of grandparents I now have this "mermaid tent" in the middle of my living room. You can see that they are loving it. It will soon be moved into her room or taken down until another day. Thanks a lot.

Most of the other pictures are of her opening presents, so I won't post them all. But she loved every single thing she got, even clothes. Every time she opened a gift she said, "Oh, I like this!" Precious.

We got to Skype with both sets of grandparents and both of my siblings. She had a wonderful day, so much so that the next day she was super grumpy from lack of sleep and just all of the excitement. When she got up this morning, I asked her if she had a good sleep and if she was still grumpy. Her exact words: "I'm not grumpy, Mom. I'm just crabby." HA! Fortunately that wasn't really the case and she was back to her usual cheerful self today. :) Love that girl.

My goodness, what fun! Thanks for posting so many pictures so soon. You are going to need to move to a bigger place to accommodate all the kids' stuff!!
