first food!

Things have been crazy around here. More details to come later. But in the meantime, we fed Kate her first food today! We did peaches since they are in season and super easy to get. We did the same with Seth, which makes sense since they were both born at the same time of year and thus started food at the same time of year.

We videotaped her first couple bites. I am awful at remembering to catch things on film with her. Poor thing has a total of maybe 10 minutes of film when Seth had a few tapes worth at this age. (Yes, I know we're in the Dark Ages with tapes, but we couldn't afford a video camera with a hard drive when we bought one right before we moved here! Totally wish we had one though...)

Anyway, her facial expressions were priceless. She wasn't as animated as Seth was with his first try of peaches. He made hilarious faces. Kate made a few faces but then was over it. I thought she was done after a few bites from the spoon, but she later opened up her mouth for more. She ate quite a bit and was happy to stay in that chair for dinner. We'll try some more tomorrow!

She certainly loves her big brother! Oh, and this was seconds before Seth had a 30 second meltdown because he wanted to feed her, and I told him he could do it another time. "No, I do it myself!" We got it on film and will whip it out when he's older!)
