"arrival status" for flight yaiko: delayed...forever

I should probably be sleeping right now since both kiddos are sleeping. And who knows how long Kate will sleep, so I should take advantage of some extra sleep time. They're so unpredictable at this stage of life. I know it's normal, but it makes life a little more challenging.

I have realized that...
I WILL NEVER BE ON TIME TO ANYTHING EVER AGAIN!!!

Okay, again, I know it's this stage of life. I hate being late. It's part of life here..."missionary time." But it's a pet peeve of mine. I'm not talking 5 or 10 minutes late to something. I'm talking 30 or more minutes late. Drives me nuts. And that's the stage I'm in now. I hate myself for that!

We had the annual ICSB staff Christmas dinner tonight. The last few years we have gone out to an amazing restaurant, but with funds tight this year, we had dinner at the school where everyone brought a dish. It officially started at 6:00 but dinner wasn't until 6:30. My plan was to get there by 6:00 since Kevin had basketball until 6:30 and let Seth run around. I finally had everything ready to go and head out the door at 6:10. Not too bad. We live minutes away from school, so I was pretty proud. Then Kate decided she HAD to eat right then. By the time I fed her, changed her, got her repacked up in her seat, loaded both kids in the car, and got to school, it was nearly 7:00. Oh, and the best part is that I totally forgot my dish at home. It was probably because I was distracted with being so late and taking forever to find something that I could actually wear. Late and showing up with no food. Great...

But it was a nice evening and good to see everyone and hang out with adults since I hardly do any of that anymore.

Okay, going to bed. Hoping baby Kate has a good night!

you will get better at it, I am sure of it. I usually am on time to things and all the other mom's in our old play group didn't understand how I could do it. But it can happen, but don't stress over it.. (((HUGS))))

Oh, I'm sure you hate being late! So sorry, but I guess it is to be expected for a while. Hm, maybe I'll arrive before you, now! Maybe not.

P.S. Dr. Gyori says I have a sinus infection and bronchitis. Bummer to miss the Christmas party and hang-out-with-Kristen time!

It is a difficult phase of parenting when you run continually late. I am still in that phase even though I have two kids who can walk, talk, and go potty...someday maybe! :) At least anyone who has had a child will understand!
