I am grateful for my health and for the health of our family. I take that for granted because we aren't ever sick, and I can't imagine what it's like to struggle with continual health problems. Even Seth has barely even had a cold in his first year of life. That was a huge worry of mine last year when I thought about what we would do if he got sick when we didn't have a car to take him to the doctor. Some days I still worry about a medical emergency because I wouldn't know how to get a hold of an ambulance or even talk to them over the phone. I am thankful that we haven't had to deal with that. I often think of Ryan and how he dealt with Cystic Fibrosis his whole life and how now he is home with the Lord and breathing perfectly for the first time. I think of another family who supports us whose daughter has cancer. My own cousin has struggled through cancer and another scare as well. I know nothing about a life like that, and I admire these people and their families who rely on God's strength and endurance to get through each day. I am grateful that these bodies and these ailments are temporary. I am grateful that God can and does heal as he sees fit. I am grateful that even when he doesn't, he promises new bodies when we join him in heaven where our health will no longer be a concern.
