the winds have changed

Cold and rainy weather today. Ordinarily I am not a huge fan of that, but after such hot days, no air conditioning and being all sticky and sweaty from the moment I woke up until the moment I went to bed, I was glad for the change. I busted out all my "winter" recipes, you know those soups, crock pot meals, and ones that require the oven to heat up the house. The heat from the oven actually felt good for the first time in a long time. I even plan on making some croutons. I haven't done that in months because it takes hours to do, and running the oven in the summer heat for hours is not something I wanted to do. And I'm so excited to make a new soup tomorrow. I'll let you know how it turns out!

AH! Crisp fall days...

Crisp fall days are my favorite, too. Apple picking and pumpkin time! :)

what soup are you making? You must post on the cookbook site all these things...and what do you do that takes your croutons so long to make? Just wondering... okay so I was crafty again... let me know what you think...

Fall days in Budapest are the best especially after a long hot summer. Soup and warm casseroles in the oven are the best too. Hope your doing well.

One loaf of bread here makes TONS of croutons. My oven is too small to handle more than baking one batch at a time. 10-15 minutes per batch and a dozen or so batches, and there you have a few hours! So worth it though. Yum!

It's so funny that you mention your "winter recipes", because just yesterday Dustin and I were remembering the AWEsome tortilla soup we made together. :)

Tortilla soup...my favorite!!! No such luck here because we lack so many of the ingredients. I miss it. You'll have to make us some next summer or we'll be headed to Max & Erma's for some!
