old blue jeans

They say the "nesting instinct" kicks in shortly before you go into labor. Well, I think Kevin has experienced more of that than me! Perhaps it's because I can no longer lift things, but I was grateful for all of his hard work to help get our place looking better. We got a lot cleaned out this afternoon! I had to chuckle because Kevin described our place as "an antique furniture store, but not the sort of antiques people would actually want." I am grateful that there have been many pieces of furniture provided for us to use at the time being, but not a single piece is anything I would pick out. Most of the landlord's furniture is so old and falling apart, and the pieces just smell! Kim left us a few nicer pieces to use until they move into their own house next year, so we are trying to get a few things of our own before we are left with next to nothing next year. Anyway, we spent our afternoon moving pieces of furniture around or moving it out into the shed behind our flat if we aren't going to use it. Kevin rounded up some guys to help after they played basketball at open gym this afternoon. Yeah for living right across the street!

Due to a lack of space and furniture pieces to put clothes in, a majority of my clothes have stayed in my suitcase since August. Granted, I can't fit into any of them now, so I wasn't in any hurry to try and put them away. I had just taken out the maternity clothes that I've been wearing. I am so tired of wearing these clothes! I didn't buy much because we couldn't afford much, and I didn't see much point to it as it's such a short time period to spend lots of money on. My mom helped me out by buying me some clothes, too. But I am so ready to wear my old clothes!

As we were rearranging stuff and shoving my suitcases about, I decided to try on a pair of my jeans, just to see how they fit. I was nervous that I wouldn't be able to even get them up. I know that the weight gain is worth it, and even my sister told me she'd gain any amount of weight in order to have a baby because it's so worth it. But the thought of trying to lost weight afterwards is daunting as that has always been a struggle for me. However, I was pleasantly surprised to discover that I had no problem getting my jeans on! Of course I couldn't zip them up or anything, but they still fit really well everywhere else. YEAH!

Good for you! I wasn't that lucky. Just breastfeed...the weight will fall off.
