breakfast

Kevin and I realized that there is really no place to go out to breakfast in Hungary. The European breakfast can be quite different than the traditional American breakfast. Although cereal is much more popular and readily available now as compared to nine years ago, breakfast is still mainly comprised of sandwiches or buttered biscuits with tomatoes, cucumbers, and perhaps some meat. The same is in Vienna we discovered.

And for someone who likes a good old sausage biscuit and some hash browns, I am a little sad! Hungary is known for it's spicier meats and peppers, and yet I can't find any sort of breakfast sausage. I've asked Americans who have lived here for years, and they didn't know of any. I asked the Hungarians who would know best, and they didn't even know what I was talking about.

I haven't had any real cravings, but suddenly the only thing I really want to eat is a good hearty breakfast. Guess it'll have to wait...

Don't worry - we can go out and buy "fixings" when we get there so you can make me breakfast! Love, Dad

Unfortunately Dad, they don't even have all the "fixings" for me to make anything like that here. That's the problem... Or else I'd be eating a sausage biscuit or some sort of skillet breakfast right now. But I was very jealous of your breakfast out at Colonial!

You could always make a trip to good old McDonald's for your sausage biscuit & hashbrowns! :) How are you feeling? Hope all is well. We're in NC with Hannah as I type this comment :) She's so beautiful and we're having a blast!
