some brag time

I have to do a little bragging about Kevin. I must preface by saying that he doesn't know I am writing about him, nor would he be too thrilled that I am writing this. Too bad, honey!

Kevin is a great math teacher. I don't know from personal experience as having him as a teacher, but I have heard that a lot from other parents and students in the past. I never doubted his ability to teach math nor his ability to have that rapport with students. He's a funny guy who likes to have fun and do math. Most kids do not see those two going together.

These last few weeks I have heard nothing but such wonderful things about Kevin from other teachers, parents, and students. He would be the first to say that he isn't doing a good job, but all others say differently. It's because he is allowing the Holy Spirit to work in and through him. This makes a huge difference!

I have heard from countless parents that their child loves "Mr. Yaiko." Many of these students don't even like math, but they love having him for class and are enjoying those 45 minutes of a subject they don't like. Kevin has many staff members' kids as well, and those other teachers have told me the same thing. I can tell that he is well liked because kids are always talking to him, hanging around him, and just trying to spend time with them. He plays them in basketball and ping pong, too.

Oh, and I have also heard that Kevin is quite the "hunk" in the high school. I know he will probably kill me for writing this, but that is just too funny to me. This little freshman girl got all bashful and red when she was talking to me and Kevin came over. I have no idea who she is, but she has made several attempts to talk to me when he might be around. It cracks me up. A mom told me that the girls think he is so cute!

I think I might need to make my presence known a little more around that high school!

Gotta love Big K ;) It's fun to hear your perspective on Kevin because, as you mentioned, he doesn't think he's doing a great job (according to his blogs). We, however, know differently! Kevin has always shared his passion for Christ & mathematics with everyone he comes into contact with. I'm sure he's a fantastic teacher and it's cool to see a couple that loves to educate others as much as you guys do. Keep up the great work! We love you guys :)

Who would find Kevin cute?? (Sorry have to harrass him since he is constantly harrassing his nephew!). Glad to hear he is doing so well! Miss you!
