victory

Sunday was fantastic. Several reasons why...

1. Seth went to Sunday School all by himself without crying. This has been a two year process. Finally it just clicked for him after lots of talking recently about how mom and dad would never leave him and that we always come to get him. I was repeating this to him often, and then on the way to church Sunday, he told us that he was going to go to "little church" and wouldn't cry. "I'll believe it when I see it," I said. Sure enough, Kevin took him to Sunday School (the kids from 2 years on up sit in service until the preaching starts), and as he was walking out the door, he heard Seth announce to one of his teachers, "See, I'm not crying!" And he didn't! The teacher said he did great. Victory!!!

2. We celebrated Canadian Thanksgiving as honorary Canadians with our Canadian friends. How many times can you say "Canadian" in one sentence? Andrea (the true Canadian) invited us over to celebrate her first year here, and thus began the tradition! Audrey attends as an honorary Canadian as well. :) And this year, the school has a new counselor who is Canadian, so she was there, too. It was fun and lots of yummy food. I was full for two days from it. Thanks for including us in your nation's holiday, Andrea!

3. My sister Stefanie and brother in-law Tim ran the Chicago marathon on Sunday. Last year Tim proposed to her at the end of the marathon, and this year they ran with her being 22 weeks pregnant! Stefanie qualified for Boston by 9 whole minutes. WAY TO GO! Tim will be training to qualify as well since he ran with Stef, as the male time qualification is less than the female time. And today, they found out that they are going to have a girl!!! Love that I will have a sweet little niece.

And I promise to get some pictures up here one of these days. I haven't even taken pictures in weeks. Shame on me! But my parents come in 4 days, so I know for sure I will be taking pictures then. We are all sick now (AGAIN!) and praying that we are feeling better by Saturday when they get here. Kevin is gone Thursday morning through Saturday afternoon for the high school retreat, so I greatly look forward to dealing with sick kids by myself. This happens every year. Oh well. Saturday is around the corner!!!

I realized on Monday that we didn't take any pictures of Canadian Thanksgiving. Opps. It was great celebrating with you anyways. Thanks for hosting!

Good for Seth! Isn't that just such a relief?
