hiking

We went hiking all day yesterday with Nusi, her boyfriend Tomi, and Linda (Linda, Nusi and me pictured above). We went an hour and a half north of here to the town of Dömös, which is on the Danube and just a few miles from the Slovakian border, and hiked for hours and hours. Seth was in his backpack and was content there for almost the entire time. Such a trooper! There were quite the steep parts as we made our way up to the top of some point, but the view was spectacular, as you can see below. Getting down, however, was an adventure that I did NOT like at all. We went down through some cliffs and into a gorge. There were several points in the journey down that I thought I would not make it. I ended up getting cut, water in my shoes, caked with mud, and stung by some plant. After about 7 hours of hiking, I was done. And I am hurting today! All in all, it was lots of fun, even though Nusi is afraid I'll never want to do anything again with her after our adventure down. :) And side note, Seth was absolutely quiet on our way down as he too was scared. I wish I would have taken pictures of that part, but there really wasn't a good place to stop and take pictures as I was just trying to stay on my feet in the mud and water and not slip on the rocks.
