doctor's appointment

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOSH! My brother turns 22 today!

I had my first doctor's appointment today. That was interesting. I feel like I have so much going on in my life that this is just one more thing to learn about and feel clueless about. Like having a baby for the first time wasn't enough of a learning experience in itself that I had to go and do it in a foreign country.

It really wasn't bad. I had my glucose test for gestational diabetes. I was dreading that all along because so many people told me how horrible it was. It's hard to compare now that I'm here, but it really wasn't so bad! Maybe it's better over here or maybe other people over react or have horrible experiences... not sure but it wasn't bad at all. Praise the Lord!

I was given my "Pregnancy Passport," which is what they do in Europe for pregnant women. It literally looks like a passport and has all of my critical info in there along with appointment dates and various other details. I can't read most of what the doctor wrote, but I thought it was cool.

Now that I have gone, know where it is, and how to get there on public, I think I should be fine. I am going to attempt to do it all by myself next time, although Kevin might come because they do an ultrasound at just about every appointment here, unlike the US. I wasn't expecting to have another ultrasound unless required for medical reasons, but I will have several in the upcoming 11 weeks left... HOLY COW! They told me to bring a DVD thing with me next time and they'd put the ultrasound on that instead of giving me pictures. How cool is that?!

And congratulations to my cousin Aimee who became an aunt for the first time!!! YEAH!

Enough with the pregnancy talk... Still trying to download pictures from the weekend and possibly video.
