ultrasound day

Well, today was the big ultrasound day to find out if we are having a boy or a girl.

We enjoyed seeing so many organs, especially the spine and once again the heart beating. We got to see both arms and legs moving about a bit as well. Our child decided then not to cooperate at all and wouldn't move so that the doctor could find out the gender. After two different attempts, the ultrasound technician said that the baby just wasn't moving around at all in order for her to be confident enough to say what we were having. I was incredibly disappointed because this was our only chance to find out until the day that baby is born. Had we not been moving overseas and not needing to bring everything we can with us, it would have been a little disappointing but not as sad as it was for me today. Kevin was so good to remind me that the most important thing was that the baby was growing at a healthy and steady rate and that everything else looked good. I know that was most important but I will still disappointed.

The technician really felt bad for me, especially understanding our current circumstances and everything. She was so incredibly kind. She told me to go eat some lunch, drink caffeine, and walk around for a bit. She said she'd squeeze me in this afternoon and try again but obviously could make no promises that things would be better.

So Kevin and I ate some lunch, filled up on whatever caffeinated beverage I could, and walked around downtown Powell for awhile. We went back to try again, and this time the kid cooperated within two minutes and we were definitely able to see to know that, much to everyone's surprise...

It's a BOY!!!

Congrats! I am happy to hear that you are going to be blessed with a baby boy. I am sure that Stef and Daniel are especially excited. I will continue to pray that he (and you) continue to grow and be healthy.

Dad, I can't believe you polluted the blog with talk of the Yankees. I will teach your grandsons the truth, especially when I have to explain to him why we can't afford to go to any games. (195 million dollar payroll)
